Libby & Ryan invited me to travel to upper Michigan for their beautiful summer wedding day. Sojourn Lakeside Resort in Gaylord, MI, might possibly be one of my favorite venues of all time. It was breathtaking. The setting of this venue is so calming and peaceful and it truly feels like you are tucked away from the main city. Libby told me how important family time is to them and how excited they were to spend not just their wedding day, but the entire weekend with their family and friends (& their sweet pup, Jersey).
Libby & Ryan love to travel, especially when it takes them exploring outdoors. I love how they incorporated that part of their life into their wedding day and into their wedding photos. Sojourn Lakeside Resort has so many different photo backdrops and I feel like we took advantage of every single one. My favorites are definitely the pine forest and the sunset portraits on the lake.
This was such a fun wedding to photograph! I love the atmosphere of intimate wedding days. Something about them makes them so incredibly special. I feel so honored to have photographed Libby & Ryan’s day!
