Happy Wednesday! I am SUPER excited about today’s blog post! Last week I met up with two of my best friends, Maddie and Drew, for a three-day adventure in Pittsburgh! It was AMAZING getting to see them again; I’ve missed them so much! I can’t wait to see them again when I move back to Akron next month.
Our adventure began Tuesday morning, when Maddie and I got our Starbucks and got on the road to meet up with Drew in Pittsburgh. We met up with Drew, and ate lunch at The Cheesecake Factory to celebrate Maddie’s birthday. After lunch, we shopped around The Waterfront for the rest of the day. Late Tuesday afternoon it started raining…a lot…so, for dinner we went to Dave & Busters! I haven’t been to Dave & Busters in years and it turned out to be one of my favorite parts of the trip. We played TONS of arcade games, ate food, and won a UNICORN! Such a great way to end our first night in the city.
The next morning we work up to no more rain! We quickly ate breakfast and went to KENNYWOOD! Ohmygosh Kennywood was so much fun! I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I rode EVERY single rollercoaster! Thank you Drew for helping me get over my fear. We pretty much rode every single ride twice. Because I rode the big rollercoasters, Drew bought me Rita’s! That was my first time eating Rita’s custard and Italian ice, and I am now a huge fan. Then, Drew went on the SKY COASTER. For those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s a flying ride where you are put in a harness, attached to a cable that pulls you 180 feet above ground, and then you release a parachute-like ripcord and free fall at approximately 75 mph. SHE DID THAT. Insane. To finish off the day, we shopped in a cute little fudge/candy store and found a spot on the bridge to watch the fireworks. The perfect ending to a perfect day.
Thursday was our last day in Pittsburgh and we spent the day at the Zoo!! The Pittsburgh Zoo has so many animals, including polar bears, penguins, lemurs, and tiger sharks. They even have an aquarium with sea turtles!! We even got to see elephant training and tiger shark feeding.
This short trip was so much fun and the three of us have made so many fun memories. My heart is full after this trip. I love Maddie and Drew so much and I am so thankful for our friendship. I cannot wait until August when we are all reunited and moved back into Akron again with Kacey!
